LoadOne of the most controversial Metallica album's ever, some liked it, some loved it. It's got a great ton of tracks, the whole CD full! Every track is excellent, none will bore you, but you do have to give it a chance to settle in. It includes the singles: Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Hero of the Day and Mama Said. Metallica has now made their millions and its is untrue to say they went commercial, because after all, every band is commercial because they sell their music. A band that never changed and evolved would be boring.

MetallicaThis self titled "Metallica" was the album that changed things for for Metallica, it became popular with non-metal lovers as well as the fans. This introduced the possiblity of a new fan-base. The black album is Metallica's most commercially succesful album, it was better mastered/produced thanks to Bob Rock and the Guitars had more "muscle". Classics on this album "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven" and "Nothing Else Matters".

...And Justice for AllA change in style and a new drum kit! This album featured a change in sound, with Lars' double bass drum giving a dull thud showing great improvment. The guitars sounded very different. Jason Newstead became the new bassist after Cliff Burton was killed on a tour bus, on this album Jason had yet to prove himself as skilled as Cliff because the bass somewhat lacked on this album and cannot really be heard as a separate instrument it just serves to lock in with the drums and guitar giving fullness.

Master Of PuppetsProbably the heavist Metallica album which proved Metallica where doing something that definatly no other band could do, play fast, be heavy and be extremly popular. Not to mention the fact that "Battery" contains a riff only Metallica can pull off in style. Still the song arent totally neck busting because even the heavy ones here have excellent melodic breakdowns and beautufil clean guitar work.

Ride The LightningAn absolute classic with the best metal anthems of the early eighties. This include's Metallica first "soft" song; Fade to Black which is a masterpiece. Creeping death is a song which has really increased with popularity lately and its easy to see why. "For whom the bell tolls" is perhaps Metallica simplist song but has very strong atmosphere, so does the intrumental "Call of Ktulu" which contains amazing lead bass when the volume is high enough!

Kill 'Em AllMetallica's debut album somewhat lacked sound quality but is big on thrash riff's and fast solo's. The songs are all energy filled, including the entire bass solo song Anaesthesia which really showed off the skills of their then bassist Cliff Burton. A must for all hard thrash fans.
